But once I got into it, it became obvious a previous shop had botched a Helicoil repair. They didn’t lower the engine like they should have, and the bolt ended up going in at a dangerous angle.
That’s not the kind of thing you just slap together and hope for the best. A belt-driven component under load with a crooked, compromised mounting point is the kind of repair that can come back ugly. Fast.
So I refused the job.
